Birmingham, AL, February 24, 2011—On behalf of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Altec, Inc. presented U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) with the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence. The award, presented at Altec’s corporate headquarters in Birmingham, recognized Sessions for his consistent support of manufacturers and their employees across the United States.

“What happens in Washington has the potential to profoundly affect today’s global business environment,” said Altec Chairman and CEO, Lee Styslinger III. “It is the reason why Senator Sessions’ outstanding support of a pro-manufacturing legislative agenda is so important. His focus on the need for smaller government, reduced regulations and market access are critical components for economic growth, job creation and higher living standards for American working families.”
Members of Congress who maintained a voting record of 70 percent or higher during the 111th Congress (2009-2010) received the Award. Sessions received an 85 percent key vote rating. Each key vote was selected by a NAM member-led advisory committee comprised of executives from small, mid-sized and large manufacturing companies.
NAM is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing manufacturers in every industrial sector. As a member of NAM, Altec helps ensure adopted policies address the needs of the manufacturing industry.
