Altec Develops New Crane Offering with Camoplast
February 12, 2009

Birmingham, AL – Altec Industries, Inc. has partnered with Camoplast to install cranes on the new GT3000 tracked vehicle, a huge, off-road terrain unit used on desert sand. Depending on the need, Altec can install 18 to 38 tons telescopic cranes, high reach isolated man lift boom up to 46 meters, pressure washers and digger derricks on Camoplast track vehicles. These unique features will allow for work in places previously not accessible by trucks, offering a significant cost reduction on operation and gain on time.

Camoplast launched this versatile payload tracked vehicle, which easily adapts to the user’s needs and exceeds expectations in all conditions. From 20 tons of payload on the big GO-TRACT 4500 to 4.5 tons of payload on the unique Muskeg, it can meet the demands of any work environment, where power, toughness, traction and safety are essential.

The GT3000 showed at IDEX 2009 offers a front and rear climbing capability of 60 percent and 40 percent on side hilling. The unique technology on the undercarriage gives the user a ground pressure lighter than a human footprint at maximum load and has a result of outstanding traction on sand, rocks, mud and snow. Available for a demo at IDEX 2009 are two Altec AC38-127 cranes, mounted on International 7600 and Kenworth T800 chassis.
