Birmingham, Ala., May 18, 2010 – Altec, Inc., a Birmingham, Ala. based manufacturer of aerial lifts, digger derricks, truck-mounted cranes and specialty equipment announced today that Richfield, Ohio based ALT Sales Corporation has joined Custom Truck as a distributor of Altec cranes in the United States.

ALT sales will target Altec crane distribution within all crane markets except electric utility, as Altec will continue selling cranes direct to these customers.

Altec is evaluating additional dealers and distributors within the country to reach all markets for both sale and rental.  In addition to ALT Sales and Custom Truck in the United States, Altec also has partnerships with ALT Sales in Ontario, Canada and F. Drapeau in St-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, Quebec, Canada.

Altec offers 18 to 38 ton boom truck cranes, with integral safety features such as LMAP (Load Moment &Area Protection), outrigger boom interlock system and front entrance enclosed cabs.  Custom builds are available as well, with integral productivity features including the Altec Opti-View® riding seat control stations and walk-through stand-up control stations.
