Birmingham, AL, August 11, 2010 – Altec Supply, a division of Altec Industries, Inc., has announced a new and innovative concept to provide customers with “essential need tools” for storm and natural disaster restoration efforts.  Altec Supply has introduced a specially designed, mobile “Storm Trailer” which can be quickly positioned into storm damaged regions.  The trailer will be capable of providing linemen, right-of-way crews and arborists with immediate access to a complete range of critical tools and accessories.

“Customers told us they need to react quickly during natural disasters and don’t have time to wait on shipments of key tools and accessories which are often delayed because of limited access to the affected area”, said Bill Niketas, Managing Director of Altec Supply.  “The Storm Trailer carries a wide range of  essential tools, accessories and safety supplies needed by line crews and can position itself within the affected region giving restoration crews immediate access to items they need to complete their work.”

The Storm Trailer has the capability of providing many tools and accessories required for restoration efforts including hand tools, hydraulic  and battery powered tools, as well as essential safety related items.   The Storm Trailer is completely mobile and will be located in the Southern U.S. during hurricane and tropical storm season.   Once hurricane season is complete, Altec Supply will reposition the trailer to the Northern U.S. to provide winter storm support to customers and line crews.
