What We Look For

Equipment is subject to extensive inspection by expert Altec technicians to assure dependability and quality. A few key features of the inspection process include:

Bucket truck inspection

Bucket trucks undergo a thorough inspection to make sure the unit meets certified pre-owned qualifications. Inspection areas include rotation bearings, outriggers, platforms, leveling systems, control functionality and much more.

Digger derrick inspection

A robust checklist is reviewed to make sure the derrick meets certified pre-owned standards. This includes rotation bearings, outriggers, boom tip, winch and rope, auger and motor, and hydraulic system performance to name a few.

PM and Dielectric testing

All Altec Certified Pre-Owned equipment comes with completed preventative maintenance service applicable to each unit type. For insulated aerials and digger derricks with fiberglass upper booms, applicable di-electric tests are completed per ANSI standards and units are delivered with current di-electric certification.

Chassis inspection

A chassis condition report is filled out to make sure the chassis components meet quality standards and are in good working order.

DOT certification

This inspection is conducted by a DOT mechanical inspector and certifies that the vehicle meets requirements specified by Federal or State DOT requirements. Any component not meeting current DOT standards is repaired or replaced, and trucks are delivered with current DOT certification.

Chassis and unit detailing

The chassis and the entire unit are detailed to bring it to like-new condition. This final extra step provides a professional image for your business and delivers used equipment you can be proud to have in your fleet.
