Altec’s Dixon Operations is a final assembly plant that focuses on our high efficiency fleet and custom bodies to meet the needs of the West Coast of North America.
In 2011, Altec invested in an extensive renovation to better support our West Coast customers. The newly constructed assembly plant increased our capacity to include Altec’s full equipment line and provide more custom built products. Hybrid equipment and systems are engineered and built in Dixon. The facility also installs Altec equipment on chassis that run on alternative fuels such as CNG, LNG and propane. These builds demonstrate our commitment to providing industry leading, high efficiency vehicles that meet all of our customer’s performance needs with minimal impact on the environment.
In keeping with Altec’s initiative to offer products that protect the environment, the facility features reflective roofing material, sky lights, a high efficiency cooling system and a campus wide recycling program.

Dixon is located 23 miles west of Sacramento, the capital of California. A small town surrounded by geographically diverse, larger cities, Dixon is less than a two hour drive from Napa Valley, San Francisco and Lake Tahoe.
