JEMS S Unit Specific Training
(Available on any aerial device, service-body only trucks)
Two-day course, (16 hours)
The JEMS S is a mild hybrid system that utilizes lithium ion battery technology and Altec’s Anti-Idle (AI) system for engine-off operations. The system uses stored electrical energy to power chassis loads and to provide engine-off cab comfort heating and cooling. The energy storage system is recharged by grid power or by the truck’s internal combustion engine.
Overview
This course is intended to provide technicians with an understanding of the fundamental operational principles on the JEMS S mild hybrid system. The course includes hands on exercises in diagnosis and repairs of the JEMS S hybrid system. Various tools are used along with schematics to test system and component functionality. After completing the course, trainees should have a better understanding of the electrical and hydraulic components used in the hybrid system and be better able to test and diagnose the system as needed.
