Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Training

Altec Sentry offers a Commercial Driver’s License Training program for those interested in obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License. This program adequately prepares students for driving CDL vehicles and understanding the laws and regulations associated with commercial vehicle operation.
The Commercial Driver’s License Training program consists of an online course and 4.5-days of Behind-the-Wheel Training. The 4.5-day course covers Pre-Trip Inspection, Basic Skills (Maneuvers), On-Road Driving, and CDL Testing. The program is available for Class A and Class B Licenses with the options of Automatic and Manual Endorsements.

    • Air Brake Test
    • Parking Brakes Check
    • Service Brakes Check
    • Lighting Indicators Test
    • External Inspection
  • Basic Skills (Maneuvers)
    • Forward Stop
    • Straight-Line Backing
    • Forward Offset Tracking
    • Reverse Offset Backing
  • On-Road Driving

Training can be conducted at your location or at a CDL Training Facility in Cinnaminson, NJ. For training held at the customer’s location, the appropriate vehicle must be provided based on the class of CDL and all vehicles must have valid insurance and registration.

**REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO ATTENDING: Valid CDL Physical & Commercial Learner’s Permit (you will need to drive the vehicles)
*Training is with a certified FMEA training establishment and does satisfy the new training requirements to go take test to get your license.

Defensive Driving for Altec Equipment Training

Altec Sentry offers a Defensive Driving for Altec Equipment e-Course through the Altec Training Store. This Defensive Driving Course for bucket trucks, digger derricks, and cranes is designed to enhance the safety skills of operators who work with these specialized vehicles. Participants will learn critical defensive driving techniques, hazard recognition, and best practices for navigating both urban and rural environments. The course covers safe maneuvering, avoiding common collisions, handling equipment-specific challenges, and ensuring safe operation in various weather and road conditions. It emphasizes accident prevention and adherence to industry safety standards to protect both personnel and equipment.
