Train the Trainer

Altec Sentry’s Train-the-Trainer program is a resource designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and content necessary to instruct an ANSI and OSHA compliant operator training. The primary goal of the program is to create competent trainers who can deliver high-quality training to your equipment operator population. The Train-the-Trainer program is particularly beneficial to growing organizations or those with high turnover.

The Train-the-Trainer program consists of a 1-day class. The program is available for Insulating Aerial Devices, Non-Insulating Aerial Devices, Tree Care Aerial Devices, and Digger Derricks. The 1-day class covers training content, training delivery, instructional techniques, and training evaluation.
The following topics are presented during class:

  •  Safety Statements
  •  Hand Signals
  •  OSHA Regulations
  •  Daily Unit Inspection
  •  Traveling Job Briefing
  •  Unit Setup
  •  Pre-Operational Inspection
  •  Unit Operation
  •  Load Capacity

Training can be conducted at your location, St. Joseph, MO, or Birmingham, AL. At the customer’s location, students are required to bring their own personal protective equipment which includes a hard hat, gloves, work boots, harnesses, and lanyards. At an Altec training location, protective equipment is provided if necessary.

Once training is completed, each student’s training is recorded, and each is rewarded a certificate. Train-the-Trainer credentials must be renewed every 3 years and are renewed through a series of webinars. Altec Sentry provides ongoing support for trainers including certificate generation, informational webinars, content refreshing, and mentorship.
