Crane Operators Safety Testing
NCCCO Test Preparation & Testing
The Altec Sentry NCCCO Test preparation & testing program prepares experienced crane operators for the CCO written and practical tests. It is a two-part class designed to help crane operators learn the OSHA regulations and ASME standards of safe operation.
The course will take a total of 9 days, which includes 4 days of Written Test preparation, a Written test day, and a 4-day Practical test program.
NCCCO Training & Test Outline
The 5-day Written segment is classroom-style with 4-days of preparation. The NCCCO Written Exam administered on the final day. The CCO Mobile written examinations consist of a Core Examination and the option to take additional Specialty Examinations. The Written Core Examination consists of 90 multiple-choice items; each Specialty Examination consists of 26 additional multiple-choice items.
The 4-day Practical segment includes hands-on test preparation where each crane operator can practice on the test site. Practical exams require approximately one hour per person/per discipline.
Altec offers two specialty exams:
- Large Hydraulic Mobile Crane
- Small Hydraulic Mobile Crane

Passing students will receive CCO Certification from the National Commission for Certification of Crane Operators. Per NCCCO regulations, certification will need to be renewed every 5-years.
